In Memory of Elsie Rose Graham De Dier Hayot

Elsie Graham Hayot is trully an icon of our time. She was a dear Professor, confidant, friend,
citizen, and parent to us all.
Professor Hayot , the most loved community based activist, was born and raised in the Panama
Canal Zone township of Red Tank. Mrs. Hayot quietly passed away on Tuesday November 17, 2009
at the Paitilla Hospital, within the Homeland, Panama Republic of Panama. At the time of her
passing, Professor Hayot was 81 years young.
Elsie Hayot graduated from La Boca Normal School Teachers College, and
the University of New York (NYU). She later returned to Panama and obtained her degree in
English from the University of Panama. Continuing her education, she obtained a masters degree
from the prestigious Colombia University, State of New York and followed up with a degree from Boston
University majoring in the Instruction of English as a second language. Elsie applied her craft as an English
Professor at Paraiso Junior –Senior high school, the University of Panama and Balboa High school. We hereby
Officially induct Elsie Hayot as an honored member of Paraiso Junior-Senior High school Hall of Fame.
